Early Years Autumn Adventure at Ward Jackson Park

Our Early Years children enjoyed a wonderful morning exploring the signs of the changing season during an exciting Autumn Walk to Ward Jackson Park. With keen eyes and great enthusiasm, the children set off in search of autumn treasures, looking beneath fallen leaves and among the trees to discover the many wonders that this beautiful season brings. From colourful leaves to natural treasures found along the way, there was plenty to explore and discuss.

St Bega's Launches Partnership with Alice House Hospice

Pupils at St Bega's Catholic Primary School were delighted to welcome a special visitor this week as Gil from Alice House Hospice came to introduce himself and share more about the hospice's important work in the local community. As part of the school's charitable and community-focused activities this year, St Bega's is proud to be supporting Alice House Hospice through a range of fundraising events and initiatives. The first of these will be a Coffee Afternoon taking place next Wednesday, where the school community will have the opportunity to come together and raise funds for this wonderful cause.

Year 1 Scientists Explore How Plants Grow

Pupils in Year 1 at St Bega's Catholic Primary School have been developing their scientific curiosity as they began a new topic exploring how plants start to grow. As part of their science learning, the children planted seeds and discussed what plants need in order to grow and thrive. They are now looking forward to observing the changes that take place over the coming weeks as their seeds begin to develop.

St Bega's Families Invited to Take Part in Great British Beach Clean

Families at St Bega's Catholic Primary School are being encouraged to take part in the Great British Beach Clean over the weekend of 18th September 2026. As part of the national initiative, children will take home a bag and gloves to help them get involved in a local beach clean with their families. The event is a fantastic opportunity to spend time outdoors while helping to protect our coastline and local wildlife.

Children in Early Years at St Bega's Catholic Primary School have enjoyed a fantastic start to the new school year, settling into their new environment with enthusiasm and curiosity. Over the first few days, pupils have been busy exploring a range of exciting activities designed to support learning through play. One of the highlights has been the new veterinary role-play area, where children have been caring for poorly animals and using their imaginations to develop communication and social skills.

Year 1 pupils from St Bega’s Catholic Primary School enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Preston Park, where they explored life in the past through hands-on experiences and historical discoveries. During the trip, the children took part in the Toys in the Past workshop, learning about the different toys children would have played with in previous generations. The session gave pupils the opportunity to compare toys from the past and present, helping to bring their classroom learning to life.

St Bega’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool enjoyed a joyful and memorable Early Years Sports Day, filled with fun, laughter and active learning. The children took part in a range of creative races inspired by favourite children’s rhymes and songs, adding an extra layer of excitement and imagination to the day.
