On Friday 3rd July 2026, two important visitors came in and held sessions with multiple classes, sharing their drumming skills. All the classes learned different and unique drumming patterns on the drum pad. This is called 'Drumba'.
This type of drumming involves using two drumsticks and a drum pad. One of the moves they learned is called a flam. This is when you hit the pad and then quickly hit it again, creating a special rhythmic sound.
All the year groups spoke about what they liked about the Drumba sessions. Here are some comments from pupils across the school:
- One child exclaimed, "I loved jumping around!"
- Another said, "I liked the songs we listened to!"
- A third child mentioned, "I enjoyed hitting the drumsticks onto the drum pad!"
The sessions were enjoyed by everyone and gave the children a fun opportunity to learn new drumming skills.
